Dear Kula (Friends on the Path),
It is that time of year in Crested Butte where our town swells and paradise beckons at every glance. We are so blessed to be on the planet and even more so to find ourselves HERE. I travel to so many exotic locales to teach and I still feel that this is one of the most beautiful of them all!
At Y4P we take this opportunity to bring in guest presenters, music, events, and a packed schedule of classes to maximize your experience at the studio. This month brings Joey Lugassy, Micheline Berry, Govind Das, and Acro Yoga with Mateo Daniel hailing from LA and Austin, Texas. They are all personal and dear friends of mine, and it is a huge honor to present them to my yoga family here in Crested Butte. I do realize it’s all squeezed into a packed 10 days or so, but truly, you will want to plan ahead and arrange your schedule so you can attend as much as you can because they are so awesome! If you have never attended a Kirtan Concert, please come to the special guest appearance at our Monday Night Kirtan (now a weekly event!) of BOTH Govin Das and Joey Lugassy on Monday July 14 at 7:30 after Alpenglow (because they will both be in town on that one day!) as well as the LIVE CONCERT with Govin Das on Thursday July 17! He has several albums and his heart opening ecstatic music is a must-see experience! The nice thing about our little escape in the mountains is that you can still experience internationally recognized people right here on Elk Ave!
On a personal note, I am thrilled to announce that I am fulfilling a longtime dream of building a home for my family! Donny Smith of SmithWorks Natural Homes has agreed to help me build a Straw Clay home that I can afford, and many people in the community are jumping in to offer their skills in exchange for Yoga or just to help make it happen, from plumbers, electricians, to tile setters and people who want to be called to help stomp on the hay and be a part of work days! It’s an exciting (and a teeny bit scary) project! If you’d like to be in the loop lease lookout for my facebook page LOVE. SERVE. BUILD. I will gratefully accept any reclaimed or used materials, appliances, or helping hands! I will be out there too, so my hands may be a little dirty this summer!
Special thanks go out to Jackie Just, who has take on a management position at the studio so that I can continue the path of teaching Shiva Rea’s 200 Hour Prana Flow Teacher Training Internationally! This is an exciting time for me and locations include Mexico, Costa Rica, Spain, and Colombia! (And of course CB!)
I am thrilled and grateful for this opportunity and for Jackie, as well as the rest of my karma staff and teachers to continue to provide world-class yoga here in CB!
Have a great summer and see you in the studio!
